OS Management Services is an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Service
is ramping up for our next generation of the service and is looking for a Solid Cloud Developer. The role will require a someone that can work on all aspects of the cloud pipeline, with an emphasis on building a new CI/CD pipeline and likes to automate. This person will need to have Java Programming skills and experience working with cloud tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (or equivalents). Good understanding of writing and maintaining test frameworks is also important to this role. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a service that is going through a full redesign. The team is scattered around the globe, but this position is for a USA hire only, as some of the work will require legal US resident status for access (Sorry, we cannot sponsor someone for this particular position). Since we are a cloud service, it does have an on-call component, but the size and dispersion of the team makes it not so burdensome.
Architect, code and manage a code pipeline
Test Framework to ensure quality before being pushed into production.
Define, set and enforce standards for best practices in software development.
Coach and mentor junior developers and introduce the team to new technology trends in industry.
Ability to communicate effectively remotely.
Take pride in owning what you build, support it in production and continuously monitor and evolve it to improve performance, scalability and ease-of-use.
About You
Bachelor's degree or higher in software engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
You have strong computer science fundamentals.
4-6+ years of software development experience.
You are focused, methodical, well-adapted, and work well with others
You function well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high.
You focus on building operations-friendly apps that can be deployed, handled and run with ease
List of desired Skills:
Java Programming 5+ years
Experience with build tools and CI/CD Pipelines, use of Git (Bitbucket, GitHub, etc)
Cloud service Knowledge (AWS, OCI or Azure)
docker and kubernetes experience
Experience writing and maintaining "custom" test automation framework
Working in Unix and Windows environments. (Scripting, preferably Python and/or Bash)
Nice to haves would be experience with TeamCity and Jenkins, as well as Agile development models (Scrum, etc)
Knowledge of QA/Test Methodologies would also be a benefit to this role.
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
