The Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) team is a small, dynamic start-up team within Itamar Medical. The team was formed after the acquisition of assets and technologies of Spry Health, a startup based in Redwood City. We are developing the Loop System, an RPM solution which includes a medical device wearable sensor, the Loop Band, and a connectivity unit, the Loop Hub. Using our RPM solution, we aim to change how care is provided and drive better outcomes for patients with chronic conditions such as Sleep Apnea, Congestive Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) and Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). Position Summary:

The Data Engineering Intern will assist in creating software infrastructure, pipelines, and tools to digest large volumes of data. They will assist in building research software intrastructure for clinical studies and evaluations. The Data Engineering Intern will get exposed to all aspects of the business and have a chance to leverage the benefits of a small, cohesive, cross-functional team. The person holding the position will report to our Head of Research - US.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

    Create software infrastructure, pipelines, and tools to digest large volumes of data.
    Implement web-based interfaces and decision-making tools to interact with data on a granular level.
    Deploy benchmarking tools for algorithms and methods.
    Build research software infrastructure for clinical studies and evaluations.
    Develop APIs for access to data and results.
    Integrate Python based algorithms and methods into cloud-based infrastructure.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Experience designing and implementing software tools and pipelines.
    Demonstrated experience interacting with APIs to push and pull required data for analysis.
    Fluent in Python and Version Control (Git, svn, etc.).
    Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
    Ability to quickly adapt and respond to job, environmental, and industry changes. Experience designing and implementing software tools and pipelines.
    Demonstrated experience interacting with APIs to push and pull required data for analysis.
    Fluent in Python and Version Control (Git, svn, etc.).
    Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
    Independent - can learn and gain new knowledge on his own.
    Must be able to communicate effectively & maintain professional conduct at all times.
    Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle several tasks and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
    Able to work longer hours or after hours to support company needs if they arise.

Experience and Education Requirements:

    Pursuing M.S. or PhD (or Recent Graduate) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related fields
    Minimum 1 year of industrial or academic research experience operating in a small team working with Python based data pipelining or big data infrastructure.
