Who we are at Vehicle Connectivity?
The Vehicle Connectivity group’s role within the GTT Vehicle Engineering is to secure the telematics solutions are deployed on all truck brands in a quality assured way. This group will play a vital role for the GTT to effectively utilize the potential of Telematics linked solutions like Uptime Services, Fleet Management, Vehicle Tracking, Navigation, etc.,
The Vehicle Connectivity team in Bangalore is an integral part of the Global Vehicle Connectivity organization which shall secure connected vehicles supporting the increasing demand for soft products. Connectivity is a key enabler for fleet management, uptime services, and advanced vehicle services such as driver assistance, truck-specific navigation, and fuel reduction, targeting reduced costs as well as increased revenues. Vehicle Connectivity develops software for telematics systems for several Volvo companies.
As a System Architect you will gain a good understanding of End to End functions of Vehicle Connectivity sub-system, logical design of End to End functions and develop embedded software working in a global environment. You would make significant contribution to Global Telematics Software platform, joining a team of highly skilled and well-organized product development team with colleagues in Sweden, USA, France, India, and Japan.

Position Description
We are practicing the agile way of working, with SAFe as a guideline. This position is similar to the SAFe role System Architect/Engineering on the program level.

In this position you will have a technical leading role of our on-board connectivity platform, together with 1-2 more platform architects and be an important member of the release train management team.
The System/Software Platform Architects are working very close to the software development scrum teams, today 12+ teams, as well as cross-functional concept teams.
You will participate in the development of new or enhanced connectivity functions/services from concept to release.
In this position you plan and develop the architectural runway in support the growth of new functions and services.
You define product enablers for the release train and collaborate with other architects in other release trains.
You are the sponsor of the architect SAFe CoP team (Community of Practice).
You contribute with input to the product roadmaps.
You identify the need for key design decisions (KDDs) and managing their path through architecture governance
Evolving the system architecture based on new demand and architectural prototyping

Required Competences
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in electronics / computer engineering or equivalent education
Minimum 10 years working experience in embedded software development
At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position, providing direction to a team of architects.
At least 5 years of experience in the role of solution architect accountable for delivering, describing, and governing end-to-end systems architecture
Very good understanding of Multi Process/Thread / tasks / scheduling / interrupts / priorities/ IPC etc.
Experience with securing telematics and infotainment devices in a large IOT environment
Excellent programming/debugging skills in C++ / Python Scripting / SW Loggers in Linux environment
Experience in designing and maintaining large complex multi-threaded software applications.
Understanding of common cryptography and the ability to choose an algorithm based on use case
Familiarity with general IT or Product Security and Architecture Concepts, processes and methods
Penetration testing and tools experience
PKI experience on medium to large deployments
Knowledge of cloud security controls and designing secure cloud solutions
Experience/Knowledge in Cloud Hypervisors: QEMU/KVM, K8S and containers, OVS, Linux kernel
