Job Description
  • Arm is looking for Technical leader to drive the System level verification architecture and methodology for the next generation IP products.
  • The Team
  • In addition to CPUs, Arm builds GPUs as well as high performance system components like interconnects, interrupt controllers, and memory management units. Combining these components with Arm CPUs, various sub-system solutions are built to cater various market segments.
  • The Central Engineering Systems team continuously drives to innovate and find solutions to System Level design and Verification challenges of tomorrow in areas like Client devices, Data centres, IOT and Automotive; which will help build technology that will influence the lives of billions of people!
  • The team is responsible for various System level activities like System integration, verification, performance analysis on industry-standard emulator and FPGA platforms from major EDA vendors. Team works on latest IPs under development within Arm in CPU, Systems and GPU domain as well as other IP technology by our partners like PCIe, Memory controllers, Chip-to-chip interfaces.
About the role

  • This is a leadership role, which presents a wonderful opportunity to work with cross-site teams – Product development, Architecture, Hardware Acceleration, Methodology – along with being part of a very highly skilled group of engineers in Systems team. Being a part of the team, you will own and drive system level platform (aka ‘kit’) design and verification architecture for Arm’s bleeding edge IP products – which will be the key platform for functional verification/validation as well as performance analysis and benchmarking. The role involves understanding Arm IP and System architecture and microarchitecture with opportunities to make a difference by actively contributing to Arm’s system design, verification methodology, HW acceleration (Emulation, FPGA) technology and testcase generation tools. Each of them needs to continuously improve and push the boundaries of System verification with design advancements. You will be gaining insight in up-and-coming features and functionality in various product roadmaps through interactions with products and central technology teams, which will help you find the right solution for system level challenges in front of the team.
  • Mentoring and developing next level of engineers is an important aspect of this job which provides ample opportunity to show your people skills and make impact to the talent pipeline for the team.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A good university degree in electronics, computers, or equivalent – 12+ years of experience at System level in one or many of the following areas such as Architecture, design, verification, integration, Software, validation
Essential Skills
  • Understanding of CPU and/or SoC architecture
  • Deep understanding of digital design concepts and Verilog/VHDL coding
  • Good in logical programming using C/C++/Assembly
  • Understanding of random verification methodologies including test generation tools, HVLs, coverage, etc
  • Knowledge about HW acceleration technology like Emulation and FPGA
  • Flair for problem solving and debugging
  • Proven track record of execution and/or methodology development and deployment on complex projects, individually or in a team
  • Great influencing and presentation skills
  • interpersonal and communication skills
'Good-to-have' Skills
  • Awareness of CPU/System architecture features (such as caches, MMU, SMP, coherency, pipelines)
  • Exposure to various market segments like Client, Infrastructure, Embedded, IoT
  • General understanding of Arm-based Systems and protocols like AHB, AXI, ACE, or CHI
  • Use of scripting languages like Perl/Python/Shell
  • Hands-on experience on HW acceleration platforms like Emulation and FPGA
  • Knowledge of advance verification techniques like assertions, property checking, etc.
